Allissa Tenenhaus graduated from Ithaca College with a Masters and Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT). Allissa went on to become a Board Certified Specialist in Sports (SCS) and Orthopedics (OCS), which is one of the highest honors in the physical therapy profession. Allissa has over 10 years of experience as a physical therapist working with orthopedic conditions, balance training, pre and post-operative care, geriatrics and athletes. Allissa is well trained in post-operative care for shoulders, hips, knees, spine and ankles after working at NYU for over 6 years.
Allissa frequently attends courses and conferences and is trained in several manual and therapeutic exercise treatment techniques. The variability in her training allows her to administer an individualized approach for each of her patients.
With more than 16 years of experience as a competitive gymnast and coach, Allissa has a specialized interest in working with athletes. She works on rehabilitation of injured athletes as well as injury prevention.
When Allissa is not at the office you can find her spending time with her family. Allissa loves to travel, hike and find new parks with her son and daughter.
